This fragment keeps the river-and-street motif but turns it into a plea not to join whatever is already hunting the lost.

The handwritten replacement changes the ending from a reprimand into a quieter refusal. It reads like a warning against being absorbed into violence simply because it is already moving.

A short menacing address to the lost: 'You feel good / Street girl, / and street guy too', set in 'A place by the wonderful river' where 'Americarr woodsmen will come to / hunt you down'. The consolation is grim - 'you are not all that is lost' - and the advice is to stay outside the violence: 'Don't join'. Most telling is the revision the scan records, where a typed 'but watch your mouth' is struck out and replaced by the gentler, handwritten 'but please / don't say a word' - the reprimand softened into a frightened plea for silence.
