The quatrain works like a compact verbal loop. It tries to imagine having no thought at all, but the act of naming that absence immediately creates a thought and defeats the premise.

A closed conditional loop: 'If I didn't think a thought / Then time will tell, / That I didn't think a thought / At all'. The verbatim repetition of the premise as its own conclusion makes the quatrain a tautology dressed as prophecy, proving nothing except that the thought of having no thought has already happened.
