The wording is more angled and private than the neighboring version. Even where the phrasing stays strange, the page clearly cares about how Rusty appears to a watcher who is trying to make perception precise.

A revised twin of page 21, also headed 'Page 4'. The gear and 'Tip hat and wrapped boots' return, but Rusty now gazes 'to the slinging' with 'the poles now... tucked beneath the beading', and the watcher names himself - 'Slightly I, the tuned Albright, see.' The alternate makes perception itself, not Rusty, the subject.
