A domestic-looking note about laughter, a dog, and money turns into a small 1964 timestamp.

The page is fragmentary, but its effect is clear: ordinary observation and personal means are being registered as part of the manuscript's year-marked memory. That modesty feels important here, because the manuscript often swings between disaster scale and tiny private notations.

Two handwritten scraps. 'Laughing was / watching the dog' inverts ordinary syntax so the laughter precedes its cause, an offhand snapshot of ease. The second, 'I had money / which has no / place but mention / in 1964', files a fact away with a shrug: the money mattered only enough to note for the year's record. Both fragments are tone kept in reserve, fixed to 1964 but not yet built into a scene.
